President Obama has signed into law the Achieving a Better Life Experience (ABLE) Act, which will allow people with disabilities to open special accounts where they can save up to $100,000 without risking eligibility for Social Security and other government programs. This passage, signed by the President on Friday, December 19, 2014, culminates an eight-year campaign to gain Congressional approval for tax-free savings accounts to help individuals and families finance their long-term disability needs.
