concordnhOn Monday, March 13, there will be a marathon public hearing on the state budget in Concord beginning in the afternoon, beginning at 3 p.m. (3-5 p.m.) and continuing from 6.p. into the evening. We need large numbers of people to testify in person, to submit written testimony from home, to fill the representatives hall, to hold signs, and several other things. If you are not able to go to the hearing, please consider writing a short testimonial (30-45 seconds) of how the budget affects your family, and send it to Lynn Yeiter at MDS – This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. We will make copies for each member of the committee and take them to Concord. Updates will be posted as they become available.

For those who have not been to Concord before, a few tips.

Take Rt. 93 to exit 14, and go left at the end of the ramp. The State House has the gold dome, and can be entered from the front or back.

Take quarters to pay for parking, and take note of what the time limit is. Most of the meters are 2 hours, and ticketing is aggressive. There is a parking garage on State St(behind the State House), which has meters good for up to 8 hours.

Go to the lobby when you enter the building, and get a button to wear. Representatives Hall is on the second floor. When you get there, be sure to sign in on a pink card if you wish to speak, and the blue sheet if you are not speaking. We are supporting the governor's budget. If you have written testimony, give it to the people at the sign in table. Find a seat and wait to be called. You will have 2 minutes to speak. If you have to leave, you count in two ways. You have been there, and have expressed your support, and you have left testimony.

Let's fill the hall, and leave no doubt that the citizens of NH want our reps to "fully fund the developmental services budget."

Below are samples for testimony to be read, and for written testimony to be given to the committee. The goal is for the testimony to read quickly (30-45 seconds) to move the hearing along as quickly as possible, so that we will not be there at midnight.

Please start working on testimony now. It is important that we make a good showing. We will update as we get more information (time, place, etc.)

If printing your own and attending, please bring 24 copies for each member of the committee. Include a photo with your testimony if you can.
