Monadnock Developmental Services will host an important four-part workshop series, Creating a Life Care Plan, to help individuals and families better prepare for financial stability for those with disabilities. The workshops will be from 6:30-9:00 p.m. on four Tuesdays – May 18th, May 25th, June 1st and June 8th – at the MDS office at 45 Main Street in Peterborough.

The Creating a Life Care Plan workshops will focus on financial tools and strategies for individuals with disabilities, and is designed for parents, siblings, family members, guardians, counselors, advocates and educators. This four-part series will give families real tools, a forum for questions, and hands-on practice to create a plan for the future.

Presenters for the free workshops are MassMutual Financial Group Special Care Planner Neil Rogers, Attorney David Craig, Sheila Mahon of MCST and Sandra Metivier of MDS.  There is no charge, but registration is required. Attendance at all four sessions is highly recommended.

"Anyone with a family member or friend with special needs knows how important it is to create solid financial solutions for long-term stability," says Mary-Anne Wisell, MDS Director of Operations. "Presenters will share crucial information on insurance, wills, benefits, guardianship, trusts, work incentives and more."
